1st Time Drag Racing 4th Gen H22a

I went to the drags last night and didn't do too well. I couldn't get any traction out of my Yokohama A500 tyres.

ET 15.149s @ 92.86mph
660' 9.818s @73.43mph
60' 2.437s

Video of my best run

Video of my Worst Run

Video of all my runs 50mb

The car was in street trim, which means carrying 50kg of audio install. Mods are Intake, Header and throttle body.

Your trap is similar as mine, 93mph. I hit 14.8 with it. You should have no problems hitting 14s with weight reduction and better 60ft.

great times!

A better 60ft time would net you a nice 14 second run. When I dragged my 5th Gen, I hit a 15.08 @ 94.xx mph with a 2.48 60ft time which is really crappy. With a 2.2 or 2.1 60ft time, I probably would've been around 14.7 all motor. Just work at it, you'll hit 14s eventually. Your car has the power to hit it so just keep working on the launch and shift.

The best thing you can do for your times is to nail down your launches. Once you get that, you 60ft's will drop and so will your ET's. When your tires catch after you launch you want to be in VTEC or you'll bog BAD. My best time I got before I got a good launch was 14.906. Once I nailed my launch I got a 14.678 Here's my timeslip:
Mods:I/IM/H/TP/E/Hondata 185WHP...5th gen no weight reduction.

what are you guys holding it at to launch?
because if my tires start spinning i get a lot of wheel hop, but if they don't spin a little it bogs

I launched at 5,500 RPM when I nailed that 14.6 ET. You just have to practice and feel your car out. Be able to feel when your traction is about to break. I just feathered it out from 5,500 RPM, sounds easy but it takes a lot of practice. I even got like half a second of hop, but i feathered it out and controlled it. Hope this helps.

Do you have motor mount?

I can't stop bragging about ES MM. They contributed the most when I ran 14.8 with just i/h/e.
thats with 18s and ugly suspension on cheap kumho all seasons.

"Drop"-feather it at 4000rpm, you'll get yourself a good time.
drop-feather meaning, something between dropping the clutch and feathering it out.

I have ES inserts in the front now and changed out my broken rear mount since the drag day. It is so much better now but I am babying my car now. Can't afford to break stuff.

I just went to the track and got an awesome 60ft time. 2.173!!!!! I can't believe it. That is on the same falken ziex 512 tires. Didn't get a real good time, was having trouble with my revs falling out of vtec. Car didn't seem as fast either, it was mad humid. Good luck this season to everyone!

Yeah, I wasn't going for RT, I took my time trying to get the launch RPMs right.

Here's my latest timeslip:

I launched somewhere between 5,500 and 6,000 RPM. I feathered the clutch to get a little wheel spin, after that, I let it back and put the throttle to the floor. I did a good burnout beforehand, so there wasn't an issue with traction. It's been said before, you just have to feel how much traction you have and launch accordingly.
