Tire-Cam, Track Video

I tried a camera mounting on the driver's side door so you could see the tire working. Looks great. You can see the rubber ($$$$) flying off in little spaghetti-like pieces.

It might be a little difficult to see the bits of tire coming off. Look for them in right handers that follow left handers, especially in turns 3 and 4 right after the start of the session. Otherwise, the video shows the start, Bonnie (event organizer) getting loose in T9, a full lap, steering input in mild slides in T10, and clips of the apexes.

Cool video. Kind of neat to see the rubber flying off the tires in the corner.

Is it me or did you dial in a fair amount of front negative camber? Just something I noticed, thats all.

I've got about a degree of camber from lowering the car. Wear on the outside of the tire is much higher than the rest of the tire, so I need to get some more camber.

Here's a second video from the same day at Thunderhill. I mounted the camera on the roof. The video shows the start of the last session of the day, one full lap, then end of the session, ending with Turbo's (track master) closing comments.

that was a pretty cool video.

not to draw this off topic too much but does anyone know where i can look for one of those pod cameras that i can mount to my car, which feeds to a camcorder for recording?

I got the bullet camera off ebay for around $80 and hooked it up to my camcorder, its a lot of fun to play with.
nikolai911, I think thats what you were asking about

Nice videos.

Don't you hate it when you make one little mistake, like not getting the camera level. I've got lots of video like that.

Where did you put the mics?

Beautiful track, and you had it pretty much all to yourself.
