Except for some of you guys in warmer areas that still have autocross seasons going on (bastids ), how did you do locally? I ended up winning my class (DSP) surprisingly easily, while my wife Rachel (divebomb80 on this board) also won her class (DSPL) on her novice season.

I ended up fourth in STS. First place was occupied by Nationals trophy winner Cy Lee in a Civic Si. Second by a very quick local guy in a Neon. Third by another quick local driver in a well prepped 2.2L Impreza.
I'm looking for another car for next year.

I won AS for the year(we have one event left but I have a sizeable lead) in my local club as well as the Fall Semester with the Texas A&M club. I also took the PAX championship for the Semester with A&M as well. I am around 10th in the PAX points with our local club.
I run two clubs locally, SCCA-MKE Region and WAI (Wisconsin Autocrossers, Inc)... it is basically the same group of people just run by different core members.
SCCA-MKE: 1st in Pro Class, 2nd on PAX Index. We paxed the MKE Tour event for index which cost me the PAX Index win (damn it). Jeff Cashmore ripped me a new one when he ran Heat 5 with all of the rubber in the ground, and I was street sweeping in Heat 1. I wanted that PAX Championship bad.........
WAI: 3rd in Pro Class, 3rd on PAX Index. I was a little disappointed by my finishes in WAI, but I guess I can't complain when a couple National Champions beat you [Cashmore (AS) & Padberg (CP)].
This was a tough year. For the 3rd straight year I built a new STS Civic from the ground up starting sometime in March. We did a lot of tire testing, started over from ground zero with the suspension setup, rebuilt 2 engines and one tranny [last 3 weeks before nationals]... All to be protested out after day one of Nationals [shakes head] after driving great, that made all of the work even more frustrating....
However, looking forward to coming back strong next year with the 4th car in 4 years because the 2006 car can't be repaired to meet the rules. Good news is that we are picking up the 2007 car tomorrow, yet another '89 Civic Si ---> this one is an Arizona car that is a little rough around the edges, but it's 99% rust-free and the chassis is solid.
I need to sell my house and move somewhere with a larger garage ---> at this point I have four '89 Civic Si's on my property, my wife didn't know we owned a car lot.
I'd really like to get a STS Civic built that I can race for more than one year so I can finish up the ITA car... I don't have enough time/money to build 2 of them at one time.
Glad to hear that some of you guys are doing well!
So none of you guys will be running Preludes next year except James? H2 and H3 in HC looks to be interesting, especially if they adjust the weights and engine allowances for Preludes in H2.

Today found out I am actually in 3rd in PAX locally, but will probably end up 4th after this weekend when the guy behind me gets to drop his worst event.

Funny thing is, I think I've seen now three of your four Civics...and STILL haven't met your wife!

I guess just me in autocross and you in club racing. If the BMWs are really going to be reclassed out of DSP (I haven't been keeping up with the news lately), the Prelude will be more fully prepped for the class.

The BMWs are staying in DSP at least until '08 when the SCCA plans it constitute a big SP re-org. At least that's the plan as of a month ago. I'm sure there will be much bickering, fighting, and changing of plans as the year goes on.

Well, I have a 2-car garage now, however, it's filled with 2 Civics and Civic parts. It looks like I blew up a Civic and the parts scattered all over!!!! We haven't had a daily driver in the garage for almost 2 years now, and I don't see an ending in site unless I move into a house that has a pole-barn. Or, I suppose I could rent out some storage space, but that is just a hassle when I want to work on something.
Glad to hear that some of you guys are doing well!

I would really love to race the Prelude again... however, at this point I'm interested in winning more so than what car I'm running, hence the Civics. However, I am holding out hope with the Prelude for some reason (I don't know why) and still have some of my revalved Konis laying around incase it becomes competitive for autocross.
I really couldn't justify spending all of the money to prepare the Prelude for road racing considering I already have a track ready Civic Si.
First in STX for the 2nd year running, and the 3rd year in a row with a 1st place.
This year i was 5th in Pax. behind a FAST nationaly driven and preped SS Z06, Focus, 2 drivers in 1987 BMW and a me.
Not too bad. I would have liked to place higher in Pax... That is my goal.... but i'm putting my resources into another project

Bleh, I did lousy this season. I ended up 3rd in our indexed street tire class, which averages 17 entrants. I think it was a bad idea to try and milk another season out of some old Falken 215's. Toward the end of the season, a friend pointed out that the car was looking weird in corners. I'm guessing Koni yellows go off after 80K?
But, anyway, the Prelude is now officially retired from autox duty and I've joined the ranks of the Civic lemmings in STS. The poor Prelude has even gotten booted out of the garage because every corner and crevice of the 2 car garage is covered in various Civic parts!

LOL, lemmings!!! And all of that sounds very familiar....

Figures. Eh, what the hell...unless I codrive with someone again for Nationals, or happen to scrounge up the money to get a competitive car (which is unlikely with a baby on the way), I'm going to stick with the Prelude in '07.

Not sure if you looked before the numbers were done, but it appears that you finished 8th in PAX this year, behind a well driven focus (HS), a fast nationally-prepped Z06 (SS), a BMW with about -15° camber (DSP), an unbelievably well driven Prelude with a great-looking driver who should get free tires from a sponser . . . anyone??? (STS), the same BMW with a different driver (DSP), a color-changing S2000 (AS), and an old MR2 (ES).
You were fourth in the Cone Preservation Society points though!!
Perhaps I should actually be a touch below the fifth place BMW due to my stint in STX being counted in my PAX totals, but that does not change your standing; unless you are invoking Solo-chairman super-powers!!!
I posted that when i could not get on our site and conferm the places. I ment to go back and edit the standings... yet i forgot (no suprize there)
Don't make me invoke the powers of superchairman!
