I just used a regular video camera on an ioport rollbar camera mount.

Like a suction cup mount? I seen one of those when we went to ride the dragon last year and I wanted on for myself too.

What speeds and forces are you expecting? Matthews has a line of vehicle mounts, and you could do a decent setup for less than $750. Woods has suction mounts that will hold 70lbs and you can piece together your own setup at filmtools.com. I wouldn't hang anything on much less than a professional rig.

The chasecam systems look good, but their suction cup mounts look questionable for use at speed in a track environment. Keep in mind that you are looking at the moment arm generated due to the track experience. It's fairly easy to generate 75 lbf in a racing enviroment.

Will you be using it for track use? Autocross?
