Wasn't expecting to win, but what the hack. I'll take it.
IIRC, the ranking was me in the Prelude, 2nd place was a Camaro SS, 3rd was WRX wagon, 4th was E36 M3. Don't remember the rest. If I want to stay in SM (which I'm not planning on anyway), I need a lot of work to the car in order to bring it up to par in the mid pack of most national events.

Can I ask a few questions:
1) What does your lude weigh?
2) What kind of power/tq are you making?
3) What size/model wheels/tires are you running?
Curious as I have been considering a SM lude just for fun
1. Haven't weighed it recently, but it weighed roughly 3050 lbs (with full tank of gas and no driver) in STX form
2. 209.1hp 161.8 ft-lb (dyno'd with a Dynapack)
3. 16x7 Racing Hart CP-035 (about 11 lbs each) on 225/50/16 Kumho V710
My car is no where near the national SM level. Just for comparison, my best time yesterday was 59.175. The STS Civic that was protested at National turned a 60.1xx. A well prepared DSP BMW 325 turned a 56.xxx. A national level SM car should be quicker than the DSP BMW.

Very nice finish ahead of some very capable cars. Just goes to show that a good pilot CAN make a pig fly
nice... what do you think if the car had 230whp/180tq with 245/45/16 Rtires... I don't really need to be THAT competitive nationally, but locally I'd like to be able to do some damage (we do have some top caliber people in my region running SM though)
Considering the EF Civics that are 2nd tier cars nationally in SM make a little less power than that and weigh well under 2000 lbs, you would likely be fighting an uphill battle. I think driven correctly, you might be 1.5 sec faster than Vince is currently on a 60 Sec course, but that would still put you over 2 seconds behind a real SM car. Although I wouldnt want to try to put more power than that down in an FWD car.
