Mostly this for Jamie, Jason, James, Paul, (Drew already knows) and those that remember well, me.
I didn't entirely disappear. I'm just usually too tired of staring at computers to get online after work.
After a year or two in the Preludes, a year in the miata, and now after last year in a Prepared car, I couldn't go back to stock, or street touring... so
looks like a fun project. My next toy is going to be an S2k, hoping to buy in fall if I pay off lude early, otherwise it might be this time next year. Plan is to be my track biatch.

No wonder we haven't seen him...he's gutting out a perfectly good car!
I'm staying in the Miata again -- it's still faster than I am. I may skip R-compounds this year and throw a set of Azenis on it to see what I can learn with less grip -- schedule, budget and location will keep me in Florida, so it's not like I'll need the ultimate setup.
The Prelude's on the road again, although it won't see a course until I replace the engine mounts. I'm teaching my son to drive stick in it.

That's an interesting idea. I will be autocrossing again this year after several years' hiatus (this time with a WRX). I will probably be doing the same thing, only by default. I don't drive to work everyday, and am not sinking large money into the car just yet.
EDIT: I haven't checked the rulebooks in forever, but owning a WRX now I have to say that classing the 5th gen in D-stock is the biggest joke of the SCCA. There is absolutely no way a 5th gen can compete with a WRX in stock form; it's very close to a death sentence for Preludes.

Perfectly good might be an overstatement.
I'm almost ashamed to admit: I miss my Miata.
Driving a mommy-wagon Durango is great in Houston SUV traffic, but the minute the road turns twisty, I want to gouge my eyes out.
Somehow I wasn't surprised the MR2 would eventually be your next autox bish. I think I am going to campaign the Prelude at least one more season in DSP. It needs a bit of prep work to get it to the limits of the rules...not to mention the revalved Konis are now near shot. Either getting them revalved again or get a used set of TEIN HA's and have those revalved. Locally, the car will do fine. Nationally? Well, BMW's still rule the roost (which sucks), but I'll take her out there for at least one last hurrah in Topeka.

Teach him to drive a stick on an autocross or road course...problem solved.

Nice little project Zack, I know lots of people building DP cars now... I remember watching Ramsey build his, then Greg Meier and Ed Locke built (well almost built it) last year for nationals, now you. Are you going to chop the windshield off? What engine are you planning on?
We're going to make another run in the STS Civic this year, and going to make sure I get enough qualifying ProSolo events in this year so I can make the Pro Finale.
The damn index is going to make local events a pain in my ass!!! Soooooo, stupid thoughts of a turbo setup in my ITA/H4 Civic are floating thru my head... LOL, I have problems. I figure it might make the STS car seem like slow motion. I have a line on a complete T4 turbo setup (little larger than I would like) for a great price, so I might have to entertain it. That and I think the Civic would be more fun on the track with more power, I can't see me being able to afford to competitively race it anyways, so I might as well make it fun.

FWIW, I strongly reccomend you stick with the Konis. After owning some for awhile, I am not a fan of Teins at all. Plus, I'm not sure Tein actually can re-valve their dampers in the US; you may have to ship them to Japan for that. At least Koni has good US representation.

Wuss. My kids grew up in the back of the Prelude. We managed to avoid getting a trash-hauler until my wife adopted a Great Dane -- couldn't put two kids and a house pony in anything we owned at that point.

We have enough half-built housing developments around here that finding an empty street to practice on isn't a problem, and he has the hang of first gear now. I told both kids they'd do a summer of autocrossing the first year they get their licenses, though...whether they stay with it after that is up to them.

TEIN does do revalves of their dampers in the US. Turnaround time is around two weeks, which is considerably faster than Koni's turnaround time. Still mulling whether to stick with Koni for a revalve, but not being able to find someone that's selling a set of TEIN HA's is making me want to stay with my current setup one more time...

Pull them off the car now and send them out, that way you have them for the season and aren't trying to get sort thru new shocks in the middle of the season. The turn around time is probably less right now too, there always seems to be a mid-season rush.
I still have 2 sets of Koni's laying around. I'm about to put one set back on car as soon as the weather gets a little nicer, I want to try out the dual spring setup I purchases. I'm starting to think that I should be trying it out on the track car instead of the Prelude though, oh well.
^^^Or you could sell it to me...you've got enough toys to play with anyways.

I am back in the S2k this season after messing around in an underprepped STI STU car last year. This is the no-BS season for me, I have Penske 8300's on order
I'm seriously considering putting this... (Yes, all of it)
into this...
400whp turbo H build would go into the RHD Integra and the Prelude would get stocked and sold with a virgin JDM motor... It's so haaaaaarrdd to say goodbyeeee. Someone please help talk me in or out of this.
