New Exhaust

So last weekend Billy(71dsp) and I built a new exhaust for my S2k. We cut out the OE resonated midpipe and put straight 2.5" stainless pipe and cut a flange right by the diff. Then we put a flange on the OE Mufflers right in front of the Y where the 2 came together so it could be bolted and unbolted from the midpipe(the OE Exhaust is all one piece). Lastly, we made a turn down from the flange that could be bolted on for track days and National Level autoxes for some quick weight reduction where exhaust noise isnt a concern. Stock rules only require that the exhaust exit behind me, which this does.

Anyway - took it over to my buddy Steve's dyno today to see what kind of power it made(hopefully it would make some power).

Below is the vid at the dyno and some pics of the exhaust. Car made 210.6 whp and 145.1 wtq without the Stock mufflers and 206.0whp and 143.5wtq with the OE cans attached. This was on a Dyno Dynamics dyno, which I am told reads about 10-15% lower than a Dynojet. Anyway, it made power and dropped weight, which were my main concerns.

FYI from a sound perspective, realize the camera was about 50ft from the car, it is a bit louder than the vid makes it seem(yes its very loud).

Dude, you bent the tip!!

I won't mention the adjustments that had to be made to get it to fit after the initial tack -> fit -> weld -> fit -> tack -> "Drew you better check it one more time" -> "Nah, it's good to go -> fit -> "$#(&%@#*&$^%@! The GD exhaust doesn't fit!!!"

Wow... I expected it to be louder. Nice! Does it look weird from the back?

It is alot louder than the vid makes it seem, like I said the camera was a good 50ft away. It doesnt look like anything from the back, you cant see any exhaust, it terminates well before the bumper.

sounds Nice! Doesn't the back of the car look funny without pipes coming out of the notches in the rear bumper?

I guess - but considering I only plan on running it this way at the track or National level autoxes, I really dont care how it looks

Maybe I wasnt clear enough in my first post - this is not a DD exhaust, it is way too loud for the DD on the street, as Billy can attest. I bolt up the stock exhaust cans to the 2-bolt flange you can see near the turn-down for DD.
