how to store tires?

I don't know if it's because the search is currently messed up, but I couldn't find anything on this.

I'm going to be shopping for a storage space to store all of my car stuff, finally. A bedroom is no place to have a couple of sets of wheels/tires, suspension, cylinder heads, etc. laying around. So I was wondering, how do you guys store your wheels & tires? Laying upright? Stacked on top of eachother like pancakes? Tires inflated or deflated? Any tips are appreciated. Thanks.

I lay mine stacked on top of each other like pancakes, and make sure to clean off any brake dust because it'll eat through the clearcoat. Deflating them doesn't hurt either.

I store mine in large garbage bags stacked up in the basement. Shouldn't really them outside because of the temp. changes. I live in Wisconsin. PLus yes, clean them off before storing them.

Tires have oil in them that can evaporate when they're exposed to air and sunlight, so people who store race tires put each one in a black plastic bag and suck the air out with a vacuum cleaner.

That's what Tirerack told me when I emailed them about it.
