How did you mount your race seat in your 5th gen?

Doesn't seem to much info out on this topic.

Currently trying to figure out a mounting solution for a Cobra Suzuka. I'm ~6' 2" and in the OEM seat, am slightly hitting my head on the roof with a helmet on. Vertical space is at a premium. I need to go down, at least a little.

I would love to be able to keep using sliders, if possible.

This is primarily an autox car that is driven to and from events. It is not daily driven.

Comments/suggestions?

Thanks!

Custom mounts / sliders then.

Are multiple people driving the car to have the need for adjustable seating?

I figured if you are needing it lower, no one else is riding in it unless they are just as tall.

I would like the seat to slide because still I travel to/from the events. It helps not being cramped up driving there and back.

Also, in our region, we have a few national champs. It would suck if they couldn't drive the car due to the seating position.

Height is an issue with me. I test fitted the seat with super low sidemounts, and if the front rests on the 'hump' ( the point where the front seat bracket mounts to) and the rear rests on a slider (slider just laying flat on the floor) I hit my head (while wearing a helmet) on the roof.

are you using low rise seat mounts or standard mounts? if your not using low rise sliders try them.

I would get adjustable side mounts that mount to sliders then. Make sure to recline the seat as much as you can comfortably as this creates head room. Just make sure you do not go all gangsta in your reclining. Scoot the bottom of the seat forward and recline and you can gain some head space as long as your legs are in a good position at slightly bent fully extended.

Good luck.

Seat is in!

List of parts;
Modified Wedge Engineering sliding bracket. (I cut off the 'slider' rails)
Unknown brand sliders. (looks to be some generic brand)
Low profile sidemounts. (similar to bride)

Seat felt awesome at autox.
