As promised I put together several DVD’s of racing footage. This is uncut, high resolution video taken from inside my Prelude. These are in DVD video format that should be compatible with most DVD players that accept DVD+R disks. If you ever wondered what it was like to race wheel to wheel, these videos are for you.
3 DVD’s with over 4 hours total of racing video.
Volume 1 NASA at MSR (July 2004)
Volume 2 NASA Texas as Hallett (Aug 2004)
Volume 3 NASA at TWS (Sept 2004)
I use a Sony TRV-120, which was Sony's entry level Digital 8 camera five years ago. It is nothing spectacular by today’s standards, however it shoots good enough video for racing. I think what most people like about my footage is that I use a wide-angle lens therefore you can see a lot more of what is going on.
I have a SCCA weekend at Texas Motor Speedway in Ft. Worth Oct. 30-31st that should be interesting. If any of you want to come out and watch let me know and I will put you on my "crew" list so you can get in free.

do you have a little sample vid? im very curious as to what ide be buying exactly since i never really see racing videos. btw, how did you get the videos on dvd+r and make it viewable? what prog u use?
Great DVDs. Thanks. I like watching the whole race(s) from inside one car. You really get a sense of what its like for the driver and a better idea of what road racing is all about.
I’m glad you guys like them. I put a lot of time into the DVD’s and a lot of money into the equipment to make them. When you factor in the opportunity lost of not spending that time on my real job of contract programming, this really is a big money loser. The real reward from this for me is the positive comments from you guys. And if I can get some of you to come out to the track, then it makes it all that much more worth while.

I received mine last monday, and after going through them all, I will also say the quality is top notch, the sample vids have nothing on the quality of these DVDs, and its really good to watch and gain some insight on line and technique, especially on the TWS vid, since I have run there twice now, I know where my line is, and I can compare with his and see improvement possibilities.
I also got a little chuckle of the random commentary David provides during the race, you know pretty quickly if he missed his line or shifted early(smacks himself on the head), or was really fast in a sector(big loud "WHOOOOOO-HOOOOO!!!") These are the things you miss in the sample vids

David, had a question...I noticed on the first DVD (I haven't seen the other two yet) that you seem to be adjusting sometime with your left hand just under the steering wheel. Or was I seeing things? Other than that, good vid so far.
