Endlink, sway bar fitment issues

A couple weeks ago I installed a Progress bar along with some custom endlinks on my 4th gen. The endlinks were a pain in the ass to piece together but I ended up getting most stuff from mcmaster-carr and then I ended up making my own spacers (to get maximum articulation) by grinding one edge of a cylinder into a cone shape so there would be no binding. Seems to have worked out pretty well although I ended up having to shorten the endlinks some because the bar was hitting my LCA at maximum compression.

Anyway, I seem to have cured that problem but the one that still exists is a rattle from the passenger side. I've looked and adjusted multiple times and everything is tight and there doesn't seem to be any contact. The only thing I can think of is that the endlink itself is just rotating side to side (about the rod axis) and just rattling back and forth. I've noticed that when the car is on the ground there seems to be no load on that endlink and so you can literally reach up and rotate it side to side until it hits one edge of the rod end or the other. Just to be clear - there is no play in the rodend itself (i.e., between the bolts and the spherical rod end), but because there doesn't seem to be any static load on it, the whole thing can just rotate about the rod axis about 20* before hitting the left or right side of the rod end.

Anyone else ever have this issue? Should I introduce some load on that side?
