concidering getting a limited slip diff

First of let me say, yes I know about the different types of differentials how they work and how to replace them. I have the base model 5th gen and Im working on it so I can do auto x or at least keep up w/ my friends Porche, and I want a LSD but Ive never actually changed a car with an open diff (Im assuming thats what the base model has) to limited slip. I was thinking of finding a SH diff and sticking it in mine. So to those who have done it, what exactly do I have to do and about how much is it going to cost?

I don't think the SH will work like that since its a whole system and not an actual LSD. There is the jdm LSD but you should probably look into a quaife.

Much better quality. Probably cost $1500 to $2000 total for the install.

The SH system isn't a limited slip and requires the installation of all SH front suspension pieces. As I see it you have two options, first is to get a Euro R tranny (which actually has better ratios for 1st,2nd, and 3rd gear) and an LSD or a buy a Quaife LSD and have that installed which would probably work better anyway.

The SH suspension has nothing to do with ATTS.

The reason you can't install ATTS in a Base is that the Base block doesn't have the provisions to mount ATTS. What's more difficult is that the Base isn't wired for the ATTS unit nor the yaw, lateral g and steering angle sensors.

Quaife lsd's are no longer distributed in North America. Mfactory now makes lsd's for the H22, and is the best option.

It actually has a lot to do with it. The knuckle is entirely different and will not allow the use of ATTS without it. The base model radius rods would not clear the ATTS unit if you were to install an ATTS H22 and that's just the physical side of it, there are many other misc electronics and, as you mentioned, the blocks having a different exterior makeup would also be a problem.

There is still one distributer of Quaife ATB Helical LSD differential.

They have the Honda Prelude 92-96 Quaife ATB Helical LSD differential that I'll be buying.

For all Quaife A.T.B. helical gear limited slip differential enquiries in the United States, please contact:
