Brake shims for track days?

Do I need to use the brake shims for track days if I'm swapping out to race pads? I use the shims on the OEM pads for daily driving.

I don't bother using shims at all on my track pads.

I don't use shims on the track.

Are you swapping rotors for the track as well?

I don't plan to swap out rotors. I've done several Sebring events using the same rotors and now I have Brembo blanks which are pretty new. Just decided to switch to a full race pad (Cobolt) instead of the HP Plus. The HP Plus work ok, but not as nice as I'd like. They work better on lighter cars (like my friends 2nd gen RX7), but in the nose heavy Prelude, they don't seem to slow the car down as strong as they do in his car.

I don't use shims at all. I run carbotech XP8's in the front and XP10's in the back on the street and at AutoX's.

The shims on my Hawk HPS pads would come off while driving at the track, so now I just remove them from new pads, using BrakeKleen, and run without them.
