Brake pad break-in procedure?

I'm putting on Axxis Ultimates today and I want them to be ready to autox tomorrow. The Axxis website doesn't help at all. Here's what came up when I did a search:

Also, the most important thing to remember with any new pad (& especially a track pad) is to follow the break-in instructions carefully. Otherwise, the pad/rotor will not be bedded properly & you will ruin the brake pads. For carbo-tech, they reccommend at least 5 stops from 60 mph down to 30mph followed by at least 5 stops from 40mph down to zero. Then let the car sit for 24 hours. In addition, for the track pads, they reccomend the above procedure plus also taking the first track session (only 10-15 minutes) lightly on the brakes, then approx. one hard lap on the brakes, followed by letting the brakes cool.
This seems kind of excessive. Sit for 24 hours?

Discuss.

The general consensus is something like this...

4-5 mild pressure ~45-10mph stops. Don't go to zero, you want to make sure you keep rolling.
Drive w/o using brakes for 10-15 minutes to cool
4-5 mid/high pressure, where you do not lock up the brakes or allow ABS to kick in, stops from ~45-10mph.
Drive around for 10-15 minutes to cool again, park, don't set the e-brake, chock the wheels and allow to sit for 24 hrs.

I'll probably be out there @ Oakland in the morning group. So if you see a silver SH it's going to be either me or Elton. So come by and say hi.

You could.. But I really think with just the axxis such a street pad, little breakin is required, certainly for autox..
JMO of course

I'd tend to agree with Corey, not sure the Axxis Ultimates require a very intensive bedding process. At most just get them hot and let them cool properly for a couple hours, until the rotors are cool to the touch.

Mine came with instructions. I'm pretty sure it was something like 5 stops from 30-5 at medium pressure, then 5 stops from 60-5 with hard pressure. Then you should cool them - although 24 hours does seem excessive. They're not a good track pad but should be ok for autox and I did notice some improvement when bedded. If I hadn't had a track day in a while or hadn't really heated them up for a long time they'd get a little worse. Then I'd go and do several hard stops to transfer some pad and they'd firm up a bit more.
