Anybody know anything about this harness bar?

Check this out ->

Looks pretty straight forward. I was thinking since things fell through with getting a roll bar, I'd get this as my Prelude becomes more and more of a track car :P.

Thoughts?

Keith

Who is the manufacturer?

Looks similar to the Sparco bar...but I am a bit leary of Ebay auctions that are low on detail but claim parts fit all kinds of stuff like this one.

Looks like the old Pure bar i used to have in my car WAAAY back in the day for solo 2. I liked it, but it made me nervous on lapping days. I then upgraded to a bolt-in 4-point rollbar from that and found that car quite a bit stiffer. And now with the full weld-in cage the car is very stiff.

Too bad your located so far, I could sell you my old 4-point roll bar for cheap (CSC Racing in Newmarket made it). Fits perfectly for a 5th gen. PM if you've interested in it!

The B-pillar mounting point looks to have a pivot/bolt in it, the Pure Racing Bar had no such bolt/pivot. It might made installation a little easier (maybe) and allow a more universal design. I liked my bar for autocross use, but as bdb mentioned, I was hesitant with track days.

Personally, I would save your money and put it toward a 4-pt rollbar or a cage.

The photo doesn't match the product. Looks fine for Solo2 stuff, but get a real bar for track days.
