Ok, like Mark (aka Dirtylude) would say, I'll slap a 'boring' label on top of this thread...
I took the opportunity last week on the open track day to do a lap with the Hondalogger (via Hondata) on and recorded a session. So here is basically a lap around Gateway International Raceway...
Turn 1 - Note the tap of the brakes to settle car down from 120+mph down ~110mph where I hit the throttle to take me into turn 1. Then heavy on the brakes to set up to turn 2, down to ~60 mph. Downshift into 2nd gear...
Turn 2 - Accelerating out of turn 2, upshifting to 3rd gear, full throttle up to ~90mph before a tap on the brakes to prepare for turn 3-4.
Turn 3-4 - 75% throttle in the turn to pull the car out (maximum grip).
Turn 5 - Top of 3rd gear with a bit of throttle to take me into the carousel. Heavy on the brakes to settle the car before turning in.
Turn 6 - Tap on the brakes before making the right hander. 'Low' on the revs when exiting out of turn 6.
Turn 7 - Tap on the brakes, downshifting into 2nd gear.
Oval - Quickly shifting with full throttle from 2nd to 3rd then 4th.
Note the hesitation in throttle which is indicated in green. I didn't feel 100% confident in going full throttle complete around the oval that lap. By the end of the straight, I'm in the top of 4th gear, doing about 7600 rpm when I hit the rev limiter which was just about past the start finish line....
And that's a lap around Gateway International Raceway boys and girls
