4.64 Final Drives

Thought you guys might be interested:

Infinitude 4.64 Final Drive Group Buy - $550 shipped

If there is enough interest in this, I will attempt to get Infinitude to make a set of close-ratio gears for the H series (already make them for the B and D series).

Sorry, I've got a 4.7143 from Circuit Worx... Good price on your groupbuy though!

Thanks- I plan to start stocking these (if the GB goes well) as well as push them to make other products for the H22/Prelude.

I've looked into OBX LSDs but they are available at next-to-nothing on ebay right now.

Would you be able to ship to the UK?

Any feedback on the OBX LSD units and Infinitude FD?

I want to buy into OBX but dailod and tuningdepot on ebay are selling for <$30 over the max buy-in (read: the max discount) level. I just can't move that much product a month (yet) to justify it.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to get and sell these things...

Demonlude and anyone else: will ship internationally, I will charge more to cover int'l shipping depending on if you want air or surface (air will be pricey at this weight). Surface will not be much more.

Thanks. If possible, could you please get me a rough price, and an idea of how long it would take for both air and surface shipping please.

The Infinitude FD is actually available to buy in the UK, but you're not going to believe that it would cost me the equivalent of $760

Thanks for your help and time

Adam

I believe it. They just raised their retail and dealer pricing, retail went up SKY HIGH (to about what you are quoting).

I don't have an exact weight, but I think it will be about 10 lbs. The additional shipping cost should be about $15 for surface (4-6 weeks) or $25 for air (4-10 days).

I wish they would make something like a 4.9 Since the accords will use the same FD.

I'm getting ready to pull the plug on the GB since there is so little interest. Price will go up but I will begin stocking these.

If there is real interest, I can get these made in any ratio you guys would like. Anyone else interested in a 4.9?

Well I'm interested, but haven't posted on the GB post b/c of money right now. I'm not sure when the buy would go through, but my koni revalves & other things just hit my cc. Once that's paid off (couple of weeks) I'd be all in.

I may be in, and maybe Trevor that races a 3rd gen prelude in H4 (he would need the shaft machined to work, but its his only option)

What is the difference in the 3G? Wouldn't a B series FD be a closer fit (B20A5 motor)? I have to admit I've never opened a 3G tranny before.

ok, 1992-1996 (maybe newer) accord transmissions interchange FDs with 1992-2001 prelude FDs.

The 1990-1991 accord and prelude FDs interchange, the difference is the carrier bearing for the countershaft is smaller then our common sized FDs.

Why honda changed the accord transmission in the middle of its 4th gen model run, I have no clue. So, he would have to buy a FD like this one, and have the end of the countershaft machined to fit his carrier bearing, apparently..

I also researched that an ITR LSD will fit the 3rd gen prelude gearbox with just a little machining of the ring gear on the FD. I have also heard that a quaife from our cars will fit fine as well. So, does that mean that an ITR LSD will fit our cars if we just machine the ring gears? I will find out..

I'd love to get one - but a tranny swap isn't in the cards. Bigger fish to fry with my car right now . . .

I don't have firsthand knowledge but the 90-93 Accord shared one common body style and the F22A1 engine. I would think the trannies would be the same, too?

I would like to know. I have heard the ITR LSD thing but that would mean that a 4g/5g Prelude one would not work. There is no compatibility between the ITR and Prelude LSDs or FD that I know of. BTW, OBX lists different p/ns for the 92-96 and 97+ LSD. Not sure what the difference is.
