Used clay bar for the first time today

Well I used the Meguiars clay bar today and I am in awe at how much surface contamination existed on my car. I first fully washed the car and and then worked the clay bar to the whole vehicle. I expected most of the contamination would be in the hood and fender area but I was wrong. Both sides of the car especially the lower half of the doors and rear were caked with contamination. And then the rear bumper was a mess. I was really shocked....I mean I wash my car atleast once every 2 weeks and glaze and wax once a month so I was surprised to see all this crap come off my car. After that I re-washed the car, then polished the hood cause of some swirls, glazed with 3m Imperial Glaze, then waxed with Blitz wax. Man the car is looking sweet. So for those who have held off from using a clay bar, Im telling you go for it.

Or they live in places with poorly maintained roads.

I tried the claybar once....too much time. Now I use paint cleaner with a PC DA buffer instead. I may try to claybar this year though. We'll have to wait and see

I tried the clay bar for the first time in Feb and was expecting more contamination to come off but surprisingly there wasn't much. I don't wash my car regularly and I live in a place with awful roads too. Guess she was clean all along

I clayed my prelude when I first got it and there was a good amount of dirt that came off. You can really tell the difference when you run your finger over a clayed portion then an unclayed portion. It feels MUCH smoother.

Much love for the claybar. I usually clay twice a year, once in the beginning of spring (like, now) and once in beginning of summer. Other times, I just wash, use paint cleaner, gloss, wax. It's alot of work, but the claybar is definately worth it, even on my busted ass lude.
