Taking care of new paint

I will get my lude back in a few days, the shop is using high quality PPG paint, i'm not a paint expert, but was wondering whats the best way to keep the paint looking great, without getting swirls. I also heard I can't wash my car with soap for the next six months, just cold water and a soft cloth.

Use a glaze for the first month or so, and then you can move onto waxes if your car is not going to be baked after the paint job. To avoid swirls, it's all about your technique and product usage.

I made the mistake of handing a filthy car to the body shop to get a dented fender resprayed. They swirled the whole car.

But to answer your question, yeah you could glaze it right away but wait 60 days before any polish or wax. You can wash, gently, right away too. This is exactly what the owner ( of the body shop) told me.

I got my car back from my paint shop and they gave me some glaze to use for the first few months until the paint fully cured.

they said I could wax once it became springtime and i got the paint job done in November.....

as for the swirl marks, im pretty sure its all in the technique and quality of towels that you use....id reccommend some nice Microfiber towels

Yah, I'll try to see if I can get some glaze. The color is fairly dark so swirls me be a problem, I will definetly get the softest towels I can find, one of me friends told me to use baby diapers (cloth type). Would this be soft enough. Thanks for all the help.
