I also heard I can't wash my car with soap for the next six months, just cold water and a soft cloth.
Use a glaze for the first month or so, and then you can move onto waxes if your car is not going to be baked after the paint job. To avoid swirls, it's all about your technique and product usage.

But to answer your question, yeah you could glaze it right away but wait 60 days before any polish or wax. You can wash, gently, right away too. This is exactly what the owner ( of the body shop) told me.
