Questions on Clay Bar

Does anyone know where I can get just a Clay Bar without the detailing spray? I have like a gallon of spray so I don't need the whole package like the Mothers Clay Bar Set. Also will the Clay Bar do anything to the pinstriping, like take it off? Thanks.

if your area is well lubricated, i wouldnt worry too much about pinstripes. as for buying mothers clay bars itself, i beleive u can via online... i need to check where again though. if you want to buy another kind of clay without any kind of spray, you should try pinnacle clay bars or a brand called Magic Clay. Magic clay can be found easily on the net, just do a search on google or somthing. pinnacle can be found in www.properautocare.com. both of these brands imo are superior to meguiars or mothers. but they also cost considerably more. again ill get back to u on the mothers clay bar.

clean prelude, heres the pics u wanted to see:

the first one is Meguairs, the rest are zaino. though lighting conditions were different you can slightly see that the megs pic has a bit more yellow in the paint. thats a mark of a carnuba based wax. it also gives a deeper wetter shine. zaino has no yello characteristics because its synthetic. they give a more "hard" layered not as deep but brighter shine.

DAMN looks good. Thats the same color I have. Well almost the same, I have a Nordic Mist Metallic. The 99+ are more blueish. Once the weather gets nicer I am going to go all out detailing my car. Thanks again for the help.

I second the Clay Magic bar...

I bought my baby in January, and I actually haven't waxed it yet because I've been taking care of little scratches and filling them in, sanding, etc; just weekly washes with Meguiar's Gold Class car shampoo. I asked my bro to get me a Meguiar's Clay Bar, because the sunroof had some bird droppings from before I bought it that seem to have had an effect on the paint (I heard someone in a similar situation that had good results with one, so I figured why not). No Meguiar's, so he got a Clay Magic bar... though the droppings have sadly etched the paint , the parts that I did do are freaking incredible, it feels as if I had just waxed the car. Gotta finish my hood now, then wash, clay bar, polish, wax... should look nice.

Also, is that the right order? I don't know where these bars fall in the hierarchy.

What do you think is a better wax look on an EBP?

The wetter, deeper look of natural wax?

Or the Shiney Synthetic look?

How do you "fill in" scratches? I need to do this to a few bigger ones on my car. And what IS the proper order for the clay bar, after or before washing, waxing, etc??

hes referring to "filling" scratches with touch up paint, just slightly above the natural level and then wet sanding it off. i dont suggest u try that unless you have been shown how or hav eexperiences with it.

yes, you wash first, clay bar, than do your polishing or waxing or whatever you want. you can wash after the clay bar to clean up anything thats left but its not necessary especially if you are going to polish.

magic calyor clay magic, is a very very good brand of clay. just recently autozone has begun stocking them in stores. though im nto 100% sure on this, i beleive this is that clay companies first attempt to go into lacal retailing. before they only deal with professional detailers. i talked to an autozone guy and he said clay magic might replace their meguiars clay bars.

bluelude, the choice is really up to you. both will look good anyways.
