PSA: Never do a half assed detail job

So I decided to detail my car....for the first time in about 10 months...

Not a hardcore detail job or anything, just something to bring the shine back....

So, I washed it, took care of the interior, and then went onto the waxing and whatnot...

Now me, being the nocturnal mother fvkcer that I am, I'm doing the waxjob at 130 in the morning and I don't feel like REALLY claybar'ing my car. So I just clay the trunk of my car, and then throw on a wax job with my trusty porter cable on the whole car.

Now my trunk feels like glass and the rest of my car feels like sandpaper

Moral of the story: Don't half ass sht

now u have to do more work, wash the car with dawn to get the wax off, then dry, then claybar, then polish(or wax if u dont want to polish)

that sucks

I dread detailing my cars cuz it takes me sooooo damn long

it wasn't that bad cuz quite frankly the porter cable is the machine of the gods

but still man, it's like i haven't even waxed my car yet since it feels all sand-papery

now when I go back and claybar sht, i gotta throw on ANOTHER layer of wax on it

argh

I do it with my own 2 hands and I take about 9-11 hours.... It hurts but it's so worth it

I don't think 9-11 hours of my time is worth it since it gets dirty the next day. Especially if your paint is not in pristine condition before you start [no scratches, dings (the worst exterior blemish IMO), chips, stains, wavy sheet metal].

I just wash, dry, claybar and wax. Plenty good for me.
