new chamois?

happy new year everyone!!!

anyway i gave my car a wash this morning and used a new chamois to dry it... it was extremely oily but i kept using it until was i done. then i looked at the tag that came with the chamois and it said to wash it with soap before first use to get the excessive cod oil out. I don't think this is a biggy but now all that cod oil is on my car since i didnt wash the chamois first, and i was wondering if that was bad for the car paint?

Hmmm I've never used a chamois. Big blue micro-fiber all the way.

I think you should ask in detailer's corner.

with a new chamois I always put it in a bucket of warm water and squeeze it, it gets the oil out.

shouldn't be bad to the paint, can't imagine the cod oil being that acidic or anything
