My new toy...

Take a look at my new "toy"

Going to use this in the winter to get the underbody of my car good. I try and do it now at the do-it-yourself carwash, but I never have enough time to really get it good. I can now jack it up myself and give it a good cleanin' under there. 4 HP engine has plenty of power for anything I would want to do and it has 4 nozzles as well as a detergent pickup for soap and whatnot.

Of course this will not replace hand washing it in the summer, but it gives me a nice option in the winter when the temp. gets above freezing.

Be careful around your paint with that. Sometimes pressure washersdo more damage than they do good with.

Ya, I don't plan on using it on the paint much unless it is in the winter and I would freeze to death hand-washing it. In the summer time it's going to be plain old hose and bucket

You should have seen the looks on people's faces when they saw me hand-washing my car last Saturday when it was 32 degrees and snowy... . Oh well that's what a bucket of warm water is for.

that's whack - how could warm water freeze faster than cold? or is it just the shock that causes it to start crystalizing?

You are right...(under adequate conditions):

But my hands still hold up better with warm water .

Just dont go closer than like 8 inches with a pressure washer and 1200 psi should be the max.

The wash I work at, we set the pumps to 1200 psi. At that level its safe close to 8 inches form the surface. But you get any closer to that and you can starting stipping your coats off.
