How to use a buffer?

okay, this may have been discussed before, but I along with many others may have this question:

How the F am I supposed to use a buffer properly?

I have 2 Bonnets: 1 Cotton Terry Bonnet and 1 Fake Wool Bonnet.

I have Meguiar's Paste Gold Class Car Wax and Meguiars Scratch-X and belmist/oxidation remover.

How am I supposed to properly wax the car using the buffer to help?

Thanks,
Jonathan

Is it a Porter Cable Buffer? I am assuming that it is not: The wool bonnet is for applying the polish/scratch remover. Be careful with the Fake Wool Bonnet as it can be a little harsh...Keep the buffer moving and don't lean into it....
Use the terry bonnet to remove polish. Apply the Meguiar's Paste Gold Class Car Wax by hand and remove with the other terry bonnet.

And don't press on the buffer. Let the buffer do the work.

I actually use the Meguair's foam applicators for the PC buffer and use a terry cloth towel to remove by hand.

^^^
first wash+dry, then claybar, then compound, then polish, then wax...

If your going to do it, might as well do it right. The orbital makes it go by faster than you would think.

The clay pulls out contaminants, the polish knocks down peaks, the wax fills in the valleys...

I like Meguiar's Gold Bar Claybar, and Zymol Concours Glaze (polish) or Meguiars Deep Crystal Polish.

Mother's claybar works fine... I also used Medallion Paint Cleaner and Show Car Glaze by Meguiar's, but the Show Car Glaze is a real pain in the arse to buff off....
