How to restore a 200K prelude!? Future project of turbocharged lude :)

Hey guys I bought this prelude Jan 05 and have put about 10K on it. Has now about 199,600 and its still going strong it just needs some attention on the body I think. Please visit this link and give me your comments as to what I need to do to restore it. Maybe wet sand buffing or something? Clay bar? Who knows, Notice the hood and front fenders are very dull doors and quarter panels look like the lady before me had it fixed from the rust around the wheel wells

^^^ probably a good idea. I have never done any kind of restoration, so I can't give you any tips. Seems like most people (myself included) just check this forum to find out what kind of products people like for wax/polish/cleaning/etc... and good places to buy stuff.

If that's all original paint, then it looks fantastic for its age. I would definitely give it a good wash, then clay, polish, and then wax. If your unfamiliar with the whole detailing process, then you should try out the Meguiar's 3-step or the Mother's 3-step bottles that can found at your local auto parts store like Autozone, PepBoys, Kragen.

I doubt a clay bar will get out oxidation. But what I would suggest is, get the dings fixed. Use different stages of rubbing compound (course to fine) on all the panels that don't need to be repainted. Get the hood repainted (looks like lots of rock damage), and what ever other panels that have chips.

Deep clean the carpets. And steam clean the engine compartment.

Other then that, she’s a nice looking car. Some of the pics I couldn’t tell that the paint had any issues.

A orbital buffer like the Porter Cable and an assortment of pads would work wonders on those scratches. There is little hope for the hood with all the rock chips short of getting it repainted. Try some Mothers Metal Polish on the exhaust tips. The car looks great for 200k!
