Good way to recondition black trim

The product is called Forever Black and costs about $15.00 with shipping. Here is the website: Forever Black

I tried this product before posting on here to make sure it worked like the manufacturer said, after several washings my black trim still looks like new.

What parts of the car did you use this on? I was looking for something to restore the rubber weatherstripping around the car and around the windows. I might have to give this a try.

It didn't leave any residue on the paint after washing or in the rain? I have used stuff before that looked great but when it got wet it bled onto the paint and made the paint look streaky for a while...hard to get off.

Not to kill ur thread goldadict but I've been using Mothers Back to Black and its worked wonders. Haven't had any issues yet with rain or anything for that matter. Pick it up at ur local pepboys/autozone/advanced auto store. Does the job and gets everything back to black.

Would this work if your trim is peeling into that chrome look? Or would I be better off repainting them?

As far as the Forever Black product, it only works well on black surfaces. There is another thread on here about how to remove all the old trim below the driver and passenger windows with a heat gun and repaint to looking like new. I found the thread, really nice write up. Write Up: Reparing Weather Stripping (black window trim) VERSION II

Oh nice. Thanks dude. You think I'd be able to just mask around it and paint the trim without removing it? I've heard it's a hassle to remove.

The write up shows just how to do it in place.

This stuff does actually work pretty well, the only thing I've noticed is that it does tend to streak

how about the interior consoles and dash?

i live in texas and after a while, even with tinted windows, the plastic has a tendancy to fade.

is forever black safe to use on the interior as well? is there anything else out there that i should be looking for instead?

I haven't tried it on the interior but it would probably work just fine. I know that it worked great on the plactic bumper of the truck I used to have, and it is perfect for my Prelude window trim. On the box it states that it recolors and protects all black plastic, vinyl & rubber surfaces. It states that it dyes all plastic with the same chemicals the manufacturers use. I've never tried Mothers Back To Black as stated by (turbolude98) you could as him the same question about using it on the interior. ~Randall

sweet...i was worried that it might eat at the plastic or something equally undesirable.
