getting a nice paint job

Well, it's about time to give the lude its long awaited new paint job. I could just get the mugen body kit painted, but nearly every body panel has obvious paint damage so I wanted to just get the whole thing redone. I'm going for the first day it rolled off the showroom floor. Same WDP paint color from the factory. Anyway, getting to my question... my neighbor said he'd give me the good friend discount and paint the whole car for $1500, is that enough to trust him to do a good job? Let me know what you think. Thanks.

if I could get a full paint job for 1500 I'd probably take it. you should ask to see some examples of his work or photos.

Do you do the actual painting at your shop? What clear coat do you suggest? I was told RM DC5300 is good, but I think he usually uses Dupont paint. Anyway, any tips/suggestions would be appreciated, like what parts I should remove from the car to paint seperately and what I could just mask off. Thanks.

I do bodywork,so as far as paint stuff goes I couldnt tell ya whats good, but we do use dupont paint,I wouldnt worry too much about paint material as I would the quality of work this guy does,1500 bucks is a damn good price considering materials alone are already gonna cost a couple hundred, and as far as what to remove off of the car.......pretty much all you want to tape up is the front and rear windsheild and quarter glass, anything that would make it difficult or almost impossible to paint would need to be taken off the car, bumpers, mirrors, door handles, headlights, taillights, rocker moldings, spoiler, mudguards, etc. basically you dont want alot of stuff just being taped up
