Fresh powder coat

I'm just about to fit a set of wheels which have been freshly powder coated. Does it make sense to wax the powder coat before it gets exposed to dirt? Will it actually do any good (or harm?) or is there a better way to protect it?

Hey scorpio1971,

It is a great idea to protect your Powder Coat with some Wax! It will offer protection without any harm. You could even take it a step further and apply a coat of Polish first. Just make sure that they are clean, and I would suggest using only Microfibers!

Thanks,

Use any long lasting wax for your rims - I personally use Collinite 476 or Klasse SG couple times a year and use any spray wax/regular beauty wax as a booster when I wash the car.
