Do you go through these moments?

Do you go through those moments where you just wonder why you keep detailing the car? I wish I wasn't so obsessed with having a pristine surface because I've gotten into arguments with my parents, ex, friends, etc because of my obsession. Anyone want to join a new club called DA? Detailer's Anonymous. You know you belong here if your first thought was "Dual Action" when you saw "DA."

My parents like it because it shows that I care about the gift that they gave me. My gf doesn't care. She makes fun of me when I go out in cold temperatures to clean it, but she knows that I like to clean it. They definitley don't argue with me though.

I'm not as bad as I used to be. I've cut myself down to one wash a week (if there wasn't any rain any time soon). I learned that I shouldn't care too much about it because there's always going to be flaws and I there's more important things to do. I also have like 30 hobbies so.. lol

How many times do you wash your car? Wax?

Ditto.

My female friends definitely give me heat about it as well as about surfing po.com

Ever since that detail job I did the other week, I've been a changed person.

PC here I come!

Used to be every week, and now it's around every 2 -3 weeks. Every time I wash, I also wax. I polish every so often, depending on when the scratches, swirls appear from other factors.

Well you'll be happy with it and eventually you'll automatically think of Porter Cable too .

Garages are nice; Having a second car is even nicer

I used to wash the lude weekly but now it seems like I never drive her. I'm still every bit as anal about the car though. I think I'm going to repaint my front end before NPM... damn rock chips

I've thought about that too. The only thing that bothers me is that it is never a perfect match...to the naked eye perhaps but if you look closely, it isn't - especially in photos.

Do you have too many to fill them in yourself?

Well, my front lip looks like an oreo mcflurry close up/with my anal retentive eye so I would say yes.

Besides, how would I go about filling them in besides with touch up paint? Cut polish?

You can't use a cut polish if the paint has been chipped away exposing the surface underneath it. You need to apply touch-up paint and then a polish in order to smooth the surface.

I wouldn't say the the surface is exposed underneathe so maybe I do have hope. Although there are a few spots exposed obviously

Ouch . I have pylon damage from a construction zone on the freeway. Paint is nearly chipping off and this was less than 1 month right after a brand new paint job. It's ok Joe - we both sometimes hate having low cars.

My back lip spidered right before Nopi last year, but its been repainted. I never had a problem with the front. I hate driving in New Orleans, I've scraped so many times there. I'm going tonite but we're taking the KIA

Right now I see no point in washing my car, I wash it the next morning its dirty, I hate construction, why can't they go build homes somwhere else.

Hehe I know what you mean. However for black cars, the few hours or so that it's perfect it's so worth the many hours spent detailing it .
