Detailed the car today..

Well after the rainy season has past (I hope) I finally decided to give the car a good ol wash and wax, but not just your standard wash and wax. I went to the local auto parts store and picked up:

Mothers California Gold Clay Bar
Meguiars Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner
Meguiars Deep Crystal Polish
Meguiars Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax
Stoner Invisible Glass
Micro Fiber Towels

I had soap at home so I didn't need any.

and on to the pics

Looks pretty clean right?

Closer look.. yuck

Dirty wheels

After the wash, clay, windows, and 3 step polish/wax

Sorry the pictures weren't consistant. Sun kept popping in and out of the clouds today.
Took around a total of 3 hours. Those of you that have never clay bar'd your car DO IT! After you're done the paint is so smooth makes huge difference. I'm pretty happy with the 3 step system but I'm not blown away. The Invisible glass cleaner is great windows and nice and clean and streak free.

Questions & comments welcomed

Great job, and goes to show that it's 80% technique and 20% product that makes a difference! Well, those are my numbers anyway .

if you use the claybar all over the car, you don't need the paint cleaner. I personally prefer the bar over the liquid cleaner. Save yourself the trouble next time!

anyways, looks kickass! nice work

Well I tried to use the paint cleaner before but it never got the paint smooth like the clay bar did. I figured hey maybe it'll take out something the other missed.

Just a note:
You do need paint cleaner if your car isn't clearcoated.. The clay bar does not take oxidized paint off..

car looks nice

Looks good...I just bought that Mothers Clay bar the other day. It works pretty good. I'm going to redo my car with that again tomorrow

I'm going to try this: Sonus SFX Ultra-Fine Detailing Clay - i wanted a lighter clay so I can use it more often

I bought the sampler.. http://www.autopia-carcare.com/son-3200-300.html
