Cleaning Tires

I'm not talking about shining them up with tire dressing. I mean scrubbing them or something. Anyone have some good tips on how to really clean them without the use of Bleche White (I hate that ****...eats paint away).

I've been using Black Magic Tire Foam for about a year and my yoko's are brown as hell. I just want that nice satin shine when they were new.

Thanks!!

I have some of that but it's not really a cleaner, is it? Also its expensive and won't last at all if I use it on tires all the time.

Yea I hear that Bleche White can cause cracking in the sidewalls as well. You might want to try Eagle One's All Wheel and Tire Cleaner (formely known as A2Z) - a lot of people like this all-in-one type of product. Try using it with a scrub brush, or even a metal wire one if need be, and work the tires with it.

So it's just a cleaner, not a dressing?

Yea it's just a cleaner AFAIK. I've used the foam dressing you've used, and it made my tires turn brown after a couple days. Ever since then I've used Meguiar's Endurance Gel, and I've never turned back . Put on 2 coats and I'm set for at least a month for a car that sits outdoors.

Can you put the Meguiar's gel on somewhat dirty tires or do you need to clean them with something first?

It wouldn't hurt to put the gel on clean tires - it'll probably just help the gel adhere to the rubber better than a dirty tire.
