Car wash supplies

Where do you guys buy your high end leather chamois? I cant find one at any of the car shops and such.
I have had mine for a long time and its getting dead.
The only stuff I can find online is in brittish pounds and I dont want to buy.
What mit do you like to use? I need to purchase all new stuff.

How do you clean your engine and underside of your hood? My white rag method is crappy.

Under the hood: Simple Green, let it soak while I do the wheels, then rinse, spray rubber/plastic with tire shine and then dry the metal with terry cloth followed by microfiber. Then polish any of the 'shiney' pieces.

For the exterior, I just use a clean car sponge for the front bumper, hood, windshield, and wheels...then a soft mit for the rest of the car. Quickly dry it by draping a beach towel across the horizontal parts, then quick detailer and a microfiber for the rest. I really like Stoners Invisible Glass for the windows.

Use a waffle weave microfiber towel to dry - pat the car dry to minimze swirling and scratches.

There is an engine detailing article that I wrote, in the FAQ. I've also found that the Meguiars body brush is amazing. You can actually buy it locally at any Kragen. I know it sounds wierd, using a brush. But that thing is SUPER SOFT and doesn't damage the paint at all. Dirt and sediment get pulled into the bristles. With all mits/brushes, use the two bucket method, with a grate at the bottom of your rinse bucket, for best results. Happy detailing!
