Bugs

What is the easiest way to get bugs and stuff off of your bumper without high pressure washing.. I do a lot of night time country driving, and get a crapload of bugs on the front

haha that was exactly what i was gona say. i sometimes experience the same thing. i just use Meguiars Bug and Tar remover (in a black bottle). normally u have to spray on, let it sit a few secs, then wipe off. but u can spray on before a wash, and just hose off and wipe it with the sponge/hand mit that u r already using to wash ur car with.
for a more permanant fix, go get a clean nose mask/bra ! ewww...

hmm i dunno about the 3m adhesive remover, never used it. but it sounds like its suppose to remove glue like gunk since its "adhesive", but i dunno.

quick detailer i guess will work too. i mean we r just talking about dead bigs here. water and some scrubing does the trick already. im jsut saying what would work to remove them easier and maybe cleaner. dont use the quick detailer on tar splats though, which usually comes along with the bugs, it doesnt work very well at all. thats why i suggested the bug AND tar remover

I wouldn't try Quick Detailer due to the fact that if you wash it and scrub a little with the soap it won't go right into the paint but with quick detailer you run the chance of rubbing the bugs right into the clearcoat so if you do use it be gentle and don't rub too hard.

you could always raid the kitchen for some meat tenderizer... spray it on the bug and let it sit for a bit and the bug will just wipe/spray off with a hose.

soft scrub works..its a household cleaning item adn you will probably need to wax where ever you use it but it gets bugs off a lot better than bug and tar remover....i have never used this on my 97 lude(i never let it get that dirty) but i have used it on my grandma's 99 buick regal....i wish my grandad would just let me clean the z3 much less drive it lol

I just went on a 4000 mile, 10 day road trip from Chicago to Colorado Springs up to Yellowstone and back.. My 'lude got covered in a ton of bugs on that trip so I brought with a polishing cloth and some Mequiars Quik Detailer. Whenever we stopped I would wipe off as much of the dead bug crap as I could offa the paint and then would use gas station window squeegees to clean the windows (which were usually covered in dead bugs)..

The Quik Detailer worked pretty good until my polishing rag got covered in bugs and my car got too dirty to wipe it down.. so after that I just had to live with having a nasty bug-covered car..
