bird poop woes

ok so ive done the searching and what not and i know what kind of products i can use...but here is my question. this bird musta had the cinamon ring afterwards man cause this **** was RED, i know its wierd but i have a fresh coat of wax on there from like 1 or 2 washes ago and the poop was on the car like less than 5 hours. i washed the car tonight and the poop will not come off!!! it left like a stain on the paint in a dark red color, and this looks really bad on any color but on ebp its just murder!!! anyways...the poop is off so im hoping the acidic part is off, but do you think the stain will bleach out in the sun or should i just get some medium polishing compound and try to get it off now. Also i dont have access (that i know of) to a high powered buffer, just the random orbital buffer cheapie what kind of product do you think can be used without a buffer, or does anyone who lives in sandiego area wanna help me get it OUT!!! PLEEEEEZ any thoughts. ps, i tried some of the mcguiars polisher that i had, that three step stuff, which im sure isnt very strong, and it didnt phaze that shiat one bit...

Get a clay bar...fast. The quicker you get out the less damage it can do. You need to get it out of the paint so a clay bar would probably work best...if not try a good quality paint cleaner ie meguirs, mothers, etc.

yeah, i cleaned it as well as i could, even claybar and nothing, the good news is that you can feel that it is raised from the paint so maybe tomorrow i will go back at it, i even tried a turtle wax heavy duty compound in a small area just to see if it would work, all i know is that that stuff didnt budge, worst comes to worst i will need to find someone who has a buffer...maybe a professional detailer would do it for me

It sounds like stain has etched into your clearcoat really deeply which means I have doubts that even a buffer will be able to take that one out without wetsanding the area first. Try using a more abrasive polish first and see how that does first.

I dunno, if it feels like the stain is RAISED from the surface (rather than etched into it), it should come out easily. I'm surprised a claybar didn't get it.

If using a compound doesn't even affect the area, then the acidity of the poop has eaten through a portion of the clearcoat already. It might've budged some part of it, which could be the raised portion he's talking about, but there's a high probability that the poop has etched itself into the clearcoat.

well, i parked it in the suns direct light for a while, its a little lighter, so that is good news, ima see if it bleaches out cause i think it might so yeah, i will give it a while, if it gets to a point to where it doesnt seem to be getting any better...then i will resort to buffing, sanding, ect...

Leaving it in the sun for a prolonged period of time will only make the matter worse. In fact it could continue to etch itself into the paint to the point where you can even buff it out or wetsand the area because the clearcoat has been chewed through so badly.

i'd still try and get some megs deep crystal paint cleaner and rub it deep w/ a clean terry towel, then buff it off and throw some wax on her ...

I wouldn't take chances... the paint cleaner is a liquid and works pretty good .. (see my "meguiars is my hero" thread from way back to see how it restored a section of my car)

It's still a good idea to properly polish the area so that if there was any hidden damage, you'd level that area out. After a wax and/or sealant, you'll be in good condition .

That happened to me, but eventually it just went away to the point where I could just wax it and it was gone.
