where do i look, to build my motor?

If i get a JDM b20, i am going to turbo it. But i want the motor to be built. I have no clue where i can get parts for this, as i havent exactly seen much support for our motors in the first place.

If anyone has any sites that sell internals, or any info on what i should do to build up the motor, i would appricate it.

Im looking into doing over my whole car, motor, interior, paint/kit etc.. but first i have a lot of research to do, so i need a little gudiance.

I'm not exactly sure as to what you want. Do you want links to companies that SELL engine parts for 3g's or do you want links to companies that WORK on our motors?

well, since it's on building up the motor, does anyone know a good site/company who would sleave the B20A?

well, apparently H23 rods will fit, so I'd say go for Crower rods. Dunno about similarities in pistons, but I heard Wiseco will make whatever they want you too, so maybe 9:1 or even 10:1 pistons from them. Get a Gude head package and you'd be set. Maybe get some AEM cam gears too. Oh yeah and knife edge the crank and lighten the flywheel and that turbo B20A would be a beast of an engine.

Actually Tom (at ludespeed) said his Turbo kit isn't very compatible w/ the Gude Head kit, and I can see how he's right. The head kit gives the b20a higher compression because they shave and mill the head quite a bit, and as you all should know, turbos don't take liking to high compression motors (compared to lower compression). It'd be great for nitrous though.

That is my BOY !! hahahahah He said that he wanted Turbo that means Low compression. Now the JDM B20A I belive is like. 9.5 our stock B20A5 is like 9.1 or something really LOW. Now for pistons find out if JE makes pistons for our cars then go for the 8.5 I have seen the guys car on HP.com that has the JE pistons in his so obviouly it will work.

And yes I E-mailed Tom and he said that it would not mate well. (might be downselling another Co. though) But I can see why it would not work.

Oh yeah Iceman is actually working on making a Turbo kit of his own for our cars. WOOT WOOT!!! Iwould like to see specs on it though too. Like I am sure hte rest of you are going to want to also.

Good luck blkludeSi. Your asking for the exact same reason that I have been and we are finally getting answers. Both me and Josh(Preyluder89) Have been asking about this and that and talking about other crap that we can do. I have noticed a HUGE increase in the posts on PO.com now it is really nice to see that growth.

yeah redracer, its really good to see the intrest and growth. I have moments where i dont want to put money into my car, but as soon as i drive it, i know its all worth it

I was thinking i should just get my block sleaved by Golden Eagle, get some low compresson pistons, forged rods.. um, what else.. all your basic bolt ons, then im going to look into the turbo stuff. I want this car to be reliable, but it wont be my daily driver. im picking up an older S10 to haul me and my bike around

Ive heard custom turbo would be alot cheaper then if you went with toms kit. And i have a good friend that will weld for me. So everything should work out.

Only think im having second thoughts about so far is getting a body kit or not. My car hits the ground enough as it is

Man I hear that I High Center alot mainky cause of the STUPID A$$ street guys they design these damn driveways and ramps and crap for a 4X4 inmind it pisses me off. But if I get the kit I will have the Rims then too that will rasie my clearence about .25 of an ince I belive and that will be nice but the kit will drop it another ??? I do not know I wish I did though.

I really like my car alot also I know it has great potential. I love driving it alot just the way it is now when I get more mods it will only become Funner.

I am wanting turbo alos I really have become ADDICTED to that damn BOV sound AHhhhhhh Yeaaaahhhhh!!!

But yeah I am prolyl going to do the exact samething you are going to do. ALong with Preyluder89 but I belive he is going the Gude route which I still really like ALOT though too. NOS is nice. Oh yeah I would love to put NOS on the TUrbo though too.

i'll share some info that i got from 'golden eagle'...

"To get your block sleeved will run you $790.00 + shipping and handling . This includes putting our "Godzilla" sleeves into your block, cleaning and decking - Two Options:

1. step deck which is usually for block that do not have enough room for an o-ring due to large bores

2. O-ring - which we like to put on all motors if possible. Works great on turbo or NOS cars.

Remember, we use all CNC equipment to do the sleeving portion
of the operation so no one can touch us when it comes to quality,
craftsmanship, tolerances and turn-around. NO ONE!! Plus, our blocks get pressure tested before they leave to ensure a perfect block every time! Quality and reliability are always our top concerns. Turn around time is approx. 7 - 10 working days."

hope this helps you..

jdmSiT - that helps alot! thanks for the info.

Someone mentioned b18 intrenals, i think it was in a different thread. but im intrested in that, b18's are boost monsters.

As far as a list?

Golden eagle can sleave the block.
Crower rods? from the h22
Wiseco pistons

its a start... a skilled mechanic would help alot, even though i plan to do most of the work i can myself.

I'm gonna make a suggestion here, pertaining to this list you guys are talking about making. I'll make if for ya'll if you want me to, and I'll make it a new entire thread, or even a poll (I'd have to figure out a good way to do that.) Then, maybe it could be a sticky, and we, or one of the moderators could add to it as new products come up. Just a suggestion.

BTW, RedRacer's right, I'm going with nitrous oxide. I'm too afraid of turbocharging a b20, because I need to drive this car for a few more years (well, maybe just one), and I want it to maintain it's driveability. I dunno, it's probably just me.

yeah, make a list and post it in a new thread titled Engine build ups or something to that effect. we can have it stickied, it would be alot easier.

Heck yeah we just need to make sure that all the parts there are actualyl of good quality and we need to include or atelast try to include more then one company for each thing that needs to be fixed or replced.
