Want to lower car more

I have a 89 si with the Eibach pro-kit installed. I love the handling and road feel. I want to lower it just a bit more, maybe .5"to 1.0".
I paid $240 for these springs and I dont want to buy more springs.
Has anyone ever tried to cut 1 coil (or 2)off the top of the spring? If I do that how much will I lower my car?
Also, will my ride quality change if I remove a coil?
Thanks

If you cut dead coils that shouldn't be tooo bad. Obviously dead coils don't do much except act as spacers...

If I cut the springs, they won't be flat on the top anymore. Is that bad? How much will I lower my car If I remove 1 coil?

You'll have a camber problem. The ride will throw you out of your seat. Your 240 dollar springs will probably break, and you'll scrape everything on the road. Other than that, i think you might be satisfied.

Future: 1.3" Eibach drop
But I'm at college now, that has to wait until I get back to RI.

I've heard some people say 1.5" but I've seen on their website it's 1.3 for the 3rd gens.

1.5 drop, I would like to go another inch lower. I dont see how removing a "dead coil" would cause any problems, besides camber. Those coils don't even move over bumps, they are just like spacers. I will be getting a camber kit If I deciede to do this.

Good idea, I will let you know how it goes when I am finished. It may be a while because I am going to get adjustable shocks and a camber kit.
Thanks for all the replies!

Yesterday I removed all the springs and cut 1 "deadcoil" off the bottom of them. This coil didn't move it was just a spacer. I lowered the car another 3/4 of a inch. It is perfect now. The ride quality was not affected by this at all. But the handling has improved! Unfortunately I now need a camber kit, I ordered the
ingalls kit today for $156 shipped.

Great. Be sure to let us know in a couple of months when your springs crack.
