Valve Lash + New Plugs = JOY

Hey guys I just wanted to let you know about my experience. I did my valve lash on Sunday and finished up the whole job today. I also put in new NGK V power plugs because the old ones were very worn down and the gap was way over spec. Anyway, my car runs really really good now! It accelerates with more power and quicker. If you haven't done a valve lash in the last 15,000 miles or so I would definately reccomend it. I just got this car so Im still going through things one by one fixing it up. I almost didn't do the Valve Lash just cause it seemed kind of hard and I didn't know if I'd screw something up, but now I'm really glad I did. It did take me awhile to get the hang of it, but wow what a difference.

It's another way of saying the gap between the valve and the rocker arm.

Have your valves adjusted if you have recently purchased your lude. You have no idea how off they are. Good time to change your valve cover gasket and spark plug seals. It might even make some of that ticking go away.

So, there's a noticeable increase in performance if you get this "lash" done? Is this the same thing as a valve adjustment?

Oops, should have said between rocker and cam. Although I think have had a car that was the other way.

There will be an improvement if it is pretty far out of adjustment (the valves not opening as far as they should=less flow or opening too far and not sealing all the way=leaking). It will also make your engine a little quieter - not as much tapping noise. And yes, it is the same thing.
