Valve adjustment

Hey guys, so I hear a lotta ppl talking about doing valve adjustment. I'm still pretty much a newbie, but how and when do you know you need a valve adjustment? And how much do you think it would cost me to have it done? Thanx.

it would probably be pretty expencive for a mechanic, im not sure tho. it doesnt take much to do it. just pick up a new valve cover gasket before hand. take off the valve cover. make sure u got ur feeler gauges, i think its a 10mm socket to losen bracket that the cam lob sits in. check out the sticker under the hood for the specifications for exhaust and intake valves. and then once you have it set, tighten the bolt back up. also u will have to manually crank the engine, this can be done with a big flat head screw driver and pushing down on the flywheel.

it can be a bit confusing to describe, you might wanna get help from a friend that has done it before. too get your best preformance, you definatley wanna adjust them, or if you car shakes when u hit the gas pretty good you usually need one. good luck

Check out www.3glude.com/antonio for more in depth instructions. This is all I used, beyond the tools mentioned of course.

You can get a 19MM ratchet to crank the engine from the crank pulley. Probably easier that way.
