Two Questions?

I have a 91 Honda Prelude and could use some information on a couple of things, if someone would like to help me and my wife out. We're out here in the boonies, south of Big Rapids MI and can't just run down to the corner and get advice from people in the know.
Apparently there is a lock mechanism that enables the automatic shift lever to go in and out of park. It won't go into park, so can't get the key out and must leave it in neutral. We're just looking for a way to disconnect what ever it is that is preventing the shift lever from going into park so we can get the keys out and not have to block the tires when parking the car.
The other question is on the spark plugs. The wires don't seem to want to come off and I really don't want to brake anything to get the old plugs out and replace them. I've never had a car that I couldn't get the spark plugs out of. To avoid all this high tech extremism, we're seriously thinking of buying an old car, minus the electrical complications...

First of all, I have no knowledge of the automatic transmission on 3rd gens. Sorry, but I can't help you with your first question.

As far as the spark plug wires are concerned, I think I can help you. If they are stuck, then they probably haven't been removed for a looooong time. You can't hurt anything except the wire itself, so don't worry too much about getting rough with them. Try twisting them when you are pulling on them to try to break them loose from the spark plugs. If you actually do break one down inside the spark plug recess, you should be able to remove the valve cover and retrieve the broken parts. You should probably replace the wires anyway, even if you are able to remove them without breaking them. Chances are pretty good that they are the original wires.
