Temp gauge/electric fan and Rotors

Afternoon all,

First time posting here. Go easy on me.

Just purchased a 1990 Prelude SI 2.0 5 spd. the previous owner put a motor in because the previous owner to him blew it up. It is currently a B20A5 in there and it does run strong. Idles good and accelerates even better. No leaks to speak of and everythign works surprisingly looking at all the harnesses and vacuum lines to hook up properly. One little thing though, and I did do the customary search, so I found the neat littkle troubleshooting guide for my temp gauge/sending unit. I will check those both tonight. My question is this; When I turn the engine off and walk away the electric fan is on and blowing. I'll come back 10 to 15 minutes later and it still is on and blowing. It isn't that hot here in SW VA. The fan does eventually turn off after about 10 to 15 minutes though. Another note is that my temp gauge goes to full hot upon startup and stays there until I shut the motor off. There are no signs of overheating or smoke or anything and like I said, it runs good and strong. Is it normal for the fan to run that long after shutting down? Could it be attributed to the gauge not working properly? Last topic on this 90' Prelude. I have a 1 hour commute back and forth to work each way up and down a nice mountain pass. If I drive it hard down the mountain I have to obviously lean on the brakes a tad bit. By the time I get to the bottom I can feel a definite shake in the steering wheel where it leads me to think my rotors are starting to go. There is no squeal where the pads are getting close either. Since this is where I'll be working for some time to come and I want to "PLAY" on that mountain road to and from work, can someone suggest a good replacement for rotors and opads or a whole brake system? Money is is a little bit of a concern but not much. Brembo comes to mind but I am unaware of other choices. Any help with my temp and brake issues would be most welcome.

Thank you all and have a nice day.

It sounds like the temp sensor is malfunctioning, but the fan on my '91 will also continue to run after I shut it off.
