suspension 88 lude

hello all 3-4 of us 3rd gen lude lovers haha
i have an 88 si with almost 140k and running strong i really enjoy driving the car and it handles exceptionally well but i want a little more stability in the corners because im not beating anyone in a straight line (even tho i shift perfect) running completely stock with 17in wheels. ive been looking all over for some good quality full coilover kits and i wanted to see if anyone knew where to get the FULL coilover kit cause i don't want to mess with the shocks and struts by themselves.

Any advise is helpful thank you

Why do you want a "full" coilover setup?

For normal street use, I'd get a simple shock and spring combo.

However I do know where you can source 3GP 36 way adjustable coil overs.....

PM me or message me on AIM jacksondk10r

my aim is not working for some reason but i want a full coil over so i dont have to mess with the spring sleeve and all that crap i just wanna bolt it right in. and i know that if i just get spring then it will eventually mess up my strut and i just wanna do it right once

The reason why I ask is simply because, a true coil over setup isn't something you just bolt on... you have to adjust them properly. And for the most part, they're meant to be used. I'd hate for you to spend 800 dollars on a full setup and never really take advantage of them

On the other hand you can always get some H&R springs and tokico blues... pretty much the best setup you can get for the 3GP, now.

i have aspirations of putting an H22 when i get the money together so i want to get rid of the body roll in the butterfly's. i know the cars not that fast but it has never had the suspension replacement from 87 its not bad but i just want a stiffer ride and about 2 inches lower. but do you know where i could get those parts?

For body roll, I highly recommend sway bars...

I have an H22 and I'm using groundcontrols and tokico's.

I don't know anything about shopping for items. I go local personally.

As for the sway bars, it's a pretty simple install, the biggest issue is installing them on a lowered car is proper geometry. I'd consider making some adjustable endlinks like the ones I bought over at pp.com and adjust them accordingly

If you're looking for an OEM replacement, try HONDA or you can go to your local auto parts store, they'll either have it or they could order it.

If you want an upgrade, contact TeinUSA and they now carry any and every suspesnion bushing for our cars.

Ground control only offeres coil over "sleeves" for our cars. There are a few brands out there that offer different struts for us.

Bilstein offers a fairly decent setup

Tokico is also a medicore strut, much better then stock though.

Koni offers the best struts for the 88-91 preludes, however they're very hard to find and expensive. They're also adjustable but, require you to remove the entire strut assembly in order to adjust them.

Because of this and only because of the hassel involved in doing this, I'd recommend the Ksports. Even though if you only set them once and never touch them again.

Good luck fellas.

Just pm me

I had the Ksports made for the 3rd gens and I am supporting the 3rd gen community in aftermarket parts.

The Ksports are $955 shipped domestic.

This is the last setup you will ever need. They come with a one year warranty.

Here are the key features: Ksport Kontrol Pros - Equivalent to TEIN Flex system(Tein does not make a kit for us, but for $2700 they will make a one off kit for you, I doubled checked)
  • 36 levels of adjustable dampening
  • Made from high quality 6061 aluminum with T6 for increased hardness
  • Compression/Rebound adjustable
  • Adjustable spring perch for height adjustment
  • Adjustable body allowing maximum suspension travel
  • Pillowball top mount with adjustable camber (not available for some models)
  • Monotube high pressure design reduces oil leakage
  • Electroplated body for protection from corrosion and rust
  • One year limited warranty
