I haven't heard it called that, but it's probably the vehicle speed sensor (VSS). On the 90/91 ludes, the VSS is bolted directly to the transmission. It operates by sending electrical pulses to report speed and distance information.

nah the vss is the mech to elec converter under the dist as you stated ty btw the pulser is a magnetic sensor on the far right of the trans held in by 1 10 mm bolt. ty for the fast reply too. ya my parts guy at the local honda dealer dont even know exactly what it is for, oh and off topic if you go for seat belt replacement at the dealership i hope you like beige.

and i love your 89 pic

Thanks for the info. Fortunately my seat belts are working fine right now. I wonder what Honda will do when they run out of all colors of the seat belts since there is a lifetime replacement warranty on them.

Thanks for the compliment I took that pic before I painted it. I shaved the spoiler and radio antenna, and it looks much better now. Here is a more recent pic...

very nice, so clean. that pic sets off the rims better too. ive never been a fan of that bumper, only had one with it and i sold it as fast as i bought it. took dude a week to wrap it around a tree. lol and i really love the silver sticker on the window column.

Thanks, I'm pretty happy with how the paint job turned out. It was my first attempt at painting a car.

I prefer the 88/89 bumper to the 90/91, but I like the 90/91 tail lights better.

And of course I also love the 4ws!

Since you asked, here are a couple pics of my 91. It needs a little body work and paint. No rust, but there is a small dent on the passenger side rear quarter panel...

Sorry, but I don't know what you are asking with this..."and have you ever seen a 90 L vin with unmodded 89 taillights?"

Now lets see a few pics of yours.

Oh, I get it now, lol. Nope, I've never seen a verifiable 90 with 88/89 tail lights. That would be the worst combination in my opinion though. I've been wanting to either swap an 88/89 front bumper onto my 91 or mod my 89 to have 90/91 tail lights.
