Oil: What's the Heaviest Synthetic I can Run?

After I bought my high mileage 91 I switched to M1 10W-30 and it's been burning like crazy. Can I run 15W-50 without issue to try to stop the problem?

Luke.

You shouldn't have any problem with #w50. There might be a slight power loss but its ok to use. In the summer here is Australia most cars will run a 20w50.

once my oil burning problem got worse i switched over to 20w50.... pretty thick stuff, but it definitely got the job done.

gonna need to let the car fully warm up before driving any types of agressively.

havent seen many oil issues since i switched over, glad i did too. so thicker oil may be the way to go.

let us know how that works out for you
