oh ok, thanks for the info on the KYB's i was under the impression that they didnt make anything for our cars, now ill look into it some more.
www.gladmanperformance.com , i dont think that he makes them anymore though on the site he only advertises the shirt shifter and the Cold air Intake for our cars. but check it out anyway, you may find something in there you like.
also, check preludepower.com there was a group buy on his STB's recently, a newer design, so someone may be selling the older version ( i have the older version, and i LOVE THEMM )
i'm flossing (oh, that's right. I went there.) some ground control coilovers with 400 lbs up front and 350 in the rear. I have adjustable koni's, no front sway bar, the stock rear sway bar, origin motorsports upper control arm bushings, cusco front and rear STBs, and 195/65/14 azenis on 14x6 konig gt-r's.
I autocross the car in STS. This summer I'm going all out and going to take a stab at nationals this fall, as I have been fairly successful against my nationally competetive local competition. For suspension basically all I'll be doing is upgrading to 16x7.5's with 215 azenis and lots and lots of tuning. Remember to take a look for a 3rd gen in STS this september.
The car has beautiful handling, except for when I push it too hard, and it lifts the inside wheel, then it pushes like a hog. What's worse is that when the inside wheel comes back down it snaps imediately to oversteer. So basically my last real battle is to get the inside wheel to stay down.
no, I still have an open diff. LSD's aren't allowed in STS, and I wouldn't have the money for it anyway! There was an OEM limited slip in japan for our trannies, I saw it listed on the preludepower or whatever site that is. I don't think there are any good aftermarket ones though.
Someone who would know (he worked for OPM and he raced a prelude) told me that the guts of our transmissions are actually similar enough to the H22 trans that you can fit parts from them in ours. But that's just hearsay, so I wouldn't get your hopes up.
I just went auto-xing this sunday. The balance of the car was just awesome. I was wrong about why my car was pushing as it approached the limit: I didn't have enough air in the tire for 'performance' driving. It was overloading the tire too easily, causing it to push. When I pumped them up for auto-x, the problem nearly went away. Or course, I still want to keep the inside tire down, as the better I can do that, the better I can accelerate out of the corner.
The car even had pretty decent grip for it's small tires. I really think that the larger tires will allow me to keep up with the civic si's that I'll mostly be fighting.
I came in 6th out of 31 people on sunday. I feel I could've done much better, but I'm so used to having to fight the car from all last year. My placement on sunday required virturally no driving effort at all. It's so good, I'm just so excited about it.
