My 89 prelude has a broken automatic transmission. I have the carb. engine. When I check with salvage yards they ask me if I have the carb. engine or the fuel injection engine. What's the difference in the transmissions??? Someone told me it's just the gear ratio. So here is what I want to know... Can anyone tell me for sure which auto transmissions will interchange without modifications to axles, linkage, etc?? And if the difference is just the gear ratio what differnce would it make...gas mileage? I'm new here and any help will be appreciated...Thanks!

all auto tranny's from 88-91 prelude will bolt in. the 90-91 had electronic vehicle speed sensors and you would need to modify that part to have your speedometer function properly. you could also do the manual tranny swap.
