My H22a install progress

Here are some problems with the Place Racing H22 mount kit for the BA4, but it's being worked out. Like the drivers side mount dosnt line up with the hole so you have drill a new hole. Also it comes with a plate to move the rear mount over 1/2" so we pu it on and if didnt line up so we had to remove it and it was fine after that. The rear mount of the B21 or B20 can be reused, (in my case, it has to be replaced, as my a$$hole driving pretty much destroyed it) and the front one must be custom made, of course by Mr. Travis.

In regards to the quality, the actual mounts are supposed to be real good, it wouldnt be that bad if they told you how to do it and what parts to use.

The last picture Travis Doherty of San Diego. Isn't he a stud? Contact him for all of your custom hybrid/forced induction needs...

/me going to send the picture of the plate going in the trash to Place Racing cuz that's where it belongs lol

edit: 7/15/04
so I haven't updated this thread in like over 1.5 years. Well there's a good reason for that; not much has changed! this project hasn't been moving along due to constraints such as time, etc.

Anyhow have any of you run into this problem? The lower pulley is hitting the radius arm. GREAT!

@ the very bottom is the working shifter assy, and my sick ass front cross member!

$2600 for motor and tranny
$400 ACT clutch
$650 Place Racing mount kit
$950 SDS EFI
$500 misc stuff

Invaluable - help from Mr. Travis Doherty and Mr. Tony Woods in SD THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS I LOVES YOU

That doesn't include stupid stuff that I need to add on, like a decent looking valve cover, new intake manifold, port/polishing, blah blah turbo stuff that will go in sooner or later. That's just what I spent SO FAR. Not really sure I want to add up the figures when I'm done, might shoot myself. I have a 2000 Prelude and soon a WRX that I need to buy stuff for also

Good luck man. By the way I'd be interested in a full H22a swap write up cause I'm still skeptical about. And why are custom Axles needed? Can u use the axles from anewer lude?

who said custom axles were needed? It was my understanding that the H22 ones would fit fine. I'll get back to you on that....

I live in Berkeley and work at in SF on irving on the weekdays and live in San Diego on the weekends....

I will post pix of driver's side mount and how it didn't match up to the stock holes as soon as I get the chance...

Place Racing didn't offer axles at the time - they said it was ok to use the VTEC axles.

don't worry I'll be posting a lot more pix when I get the chance. I was kind of pissed off how nobody bothered to take pix of this project that I know has been done before, so I thought it would be nice if I took detailed pix of what I'm doing...

What head is that sitting next to your B20A5? I need a A5 head or an A1 head... so i can get a valve job on that and put it in my lude... so i don't have to much down time.

Nice work..... I might have to do H22A swap now

What about Air Conditioning?

Thank you for your pictures and hope you will make an attempt to make some semblance of written procedures for all us pioneers - as opposed to trail breakers.
What story did you get from ARD Performance/Place Racing on being able to get air conditioning on the H22 in the 3 gen engine bay? Thanks.

They said absolutely no AC support. I'm not going to even try - doesn't even matter to me.

Libero Motors, in Gardena Should mention by motor, I mean the entire thing came with the cross members, and complete front suspension attached to it still. Basically almost a front clip with no fenders lolLibero

Also, please note, I am not affiliated with nor do I endorse Libero USA in any way.

Damn Jump I find H22A's for about $2,400-$2,600, 3k plus maybe for a type S H22. Anywho I think that I am still going to go with the B18 or B16 head swap on mine. Besides it wil be fun to do. And it will get more Hp then the H22 .

Yippe for Headswap. But yeah I am still curious about how the H22 rides in there. You have some really nice ludes there Dongtran. And the Turbo is a nice idea. I am still debating weather or not to put SC or Turbo on mine once I get the Vtec head in there. Talk about HP potential hehehe 3rd Gen's ROCK Later.

Please don't take any offense to what I said I am sorry if I did. just that the Dyno on the B16 headswap is 200+ Hp to the Wheels. And that is NICE. The H22 has 200 hp but not at the wheels. I myself would love to see a 3g with a H22 and one with a headswap race and see witch one is faster.

I am just going by what I have seen on the Ludespeed.com website Tom has a great walk through with the B series headswap. I am jsut doing it because it is different. And the fact that it can produce more HP then the H22 (Hear say) And it is abit cheaper. Just look at the Thread that I started titled 13's-14's is it possible.

No disrespect intended sorry if I did.

Oh yeah if you have Hotmail IM me I am cable_616@hotmail,com
comma intended
