lost all of my oil in a lil over 3 week period...

keep in mind:
i have a b20a... everything was changed when i did finished the swap late spring of last year.... i have put about 10k on the car since then...
i took out the CEL bulb so it would pass inspection b/c they're lazy and won't plug in the thingy to look.. so periodically i will check to make sure nothing funky is going on...

start of story:
i was in for inspection and needed an oil changed so they inspected my car and changed my oil...my dad figured since i had a bit of black smoke that the fuel filter needed to be changed.. it was about that time.. fast forward to a day later...

i'm driving on my 2nd day to my new job.. car dies.. smoke everywhere... the idiots didn't tighten the drain plug all the way i found out when i got the car towed home... i never topped off the oil b/c when i checked it.. it was fine.. figured they overfilled it so it worked out that they didn't tighten my drain bolt.....
the screw to the rotor in the distibutor came out.. never bothered to look at that and changed my timing belt...when i moved the adj. bolt to TDC nothing lined up so i changed the timing belt.. i also completed my long overdue valve adjustment.. the damn screw to the rotor has come out before.. found out the rotor doesn't fit properly...
during some course... the center bolt to the valve cover broke off... put some gasket around the gromet... was fine for a while...

my CEL i found out around the time i did my timing belt over/etc has been throwing the EGR and cyl sensor... the cyl sensor is very much shot.. it won't read a damn thing on the meter (finally got around to looking at it this morning).... haven't been able to mess around to figure out what's up with the EGR... but i'm figuring that's why i'm running rich and when i get on the pedal.. i get a puff of smoke but not all the time either.. bleh!...

moving to last night....last night i am going home and my oil light starts blinking.. i'm thinking the worst.. omg.. i'm losing oil pressure and the damn thing will probably blow up... so i pull over.. wait a bit.. check the oil.. NONE in there.... no smoke anywhere... the center bolt for the valve cover and the gromet was leaking and there is a spot on the inside of the hood... a small oil smell in my car but not outside the car where i sit in the drivers side i could smell a faint must of it..... i had a quart of oil.. barely read on the dip stick and i was on level ground as well... able to drive the 4 miles home....

checking things today.. still the same amount of oil as i put in last night... no drops where i parked last night... i'm checking everything out today.. i can't find a leak.... coolant is very clear... pcv valve seems to be okay.. i hear it jingling around and it has some oil but not soaked in it so that isn't effecting that...

any ideas? you can say some asshole probably let it all out.. b/c that would be really swell......

could the broken bolt and to the center of the valve cover really cause me to lose all my oil in a 3 week period with no smoke???

sorry for the novel but i figured i might as well put the recent history.. maybe you guys can figure it out...

p.s. i've been getting the best gas mileage these last 2 weeks... 380

I'm assuming since you were able to pull a code later on and find out the codes you had figured out how to pull them from the ecu, but just in case you don't know on your floor board on your passenger side under the dash where you have you ecu located, there is a 3 inch by 3 inch flap that pulls down, it's held up with velcro, ooohhh scrunch, anyways you pull that down and count the blinks and count each sequence until you get the code like who knows you probably pulled the panel and was in the middle of getting code 16 and you only see 12 blinks, ahh you get the idea

stop right here, you had a shop do a service on your car and two days later your car dies and there is smnoke everywhere, and you find out they didn't tighten the drain plug, this is a liability issue and you should have imediately taken your car back and demanded a new engine be installed becuase of the possibility of the engine being damaged, and since it was thier negligence they would and will eat it, trust me I work at firestone, we have had people leave the premises and come back the next day and accuse us of smashing thier side view mirror after they drove the car 12 miles home and on bad roads and in traffic

ok the rest of this is confusing to me you're going to have to be a little more clear, now the timing belt and the rotor is this work you did yourself???? and is the oil light blinking as in on for a full second then off, or is it flickering rapidly, and if it is flickering when does it do it and at what temp is the engine usually in. if the light blinks on and off fully does it do this after a hard/sharp turn or during a hard launch or hard braking event???

is the car leaving any oil spots where it is usually parked???

you say you checked your cylinder sensor did you probe it properly, while it was running, also did you realign everything properly when you put your new timing belt on becuase if it is off then that will set a cyl sensor code, and last time I checked pretty much every honda that I have worked on that threw a cylinder sensor code would go into limp mode.

Hmm right now there are a thousand questions running through my mind this is why I try and stay away from forums becuase I hate not seeing what the problem is and actually working on it

all figured out now: it's now burning oil..... no more black smoke... going through 1/2 a quart a week....

but i'm getting the best gas mileage i've gotten in a long time...

idle is eh... at 750.... runs just fine.. no lagging.. a puff of white smoke only when i accelerate hard...

i'm granny driving now... trying to get her to last until i atleast move into my apartment in philadelphia.... thanx anyway....

i've been blah about the car since the swap and lowering anyway... i'm really itching for something new.. i just wish it didn't start doing this for another year... i can't afford to get a new car since i'm still a full time college student who has to work free for an internship pretty soon....

btw.... i know how to pull codes and all that stuff.. i've known about that since i bought her... i wouldn't mod the forum if i didn't know anything about this car.. i did the jdm swap with my father last year... i can do just about anything to the car... i just won't bother replacing rings or anything... i have no time to do it.. i'm moving out of my house in 3 weeks...

sorry didn't mean to come off that way, I just didn't know your skill level or expertise, next time I'll be a little more thoughtful in how I word things. Being a mechanic has kinda brought my vocab down, especially now since it took me a few minutes to decipher what I was going to say. LOL.

it's all good but now you know that being a mod isn't just based on popularity......
