Just getting a feel for.....

How dead this forum is, been dropping by and looking in but never see any new posts, so I decided to toss one in myself. If you're reading this toss in a post that way I'm not under the impression that no one never comes in here.

i come in here occasionally....but since i only own one, two, and three gen ludes.....

and nobody ever has questions that i'll take the time to answer (cuz they can search or they are things everyone knows) for those three gens.......

i post up in tech occasionally, but then those mods suggest i didn't do any actual work, and move the thread to off-topic.

dunno.....but i'm here

Yeah, unfortunately our forum is pretty dead. There just aren't enough of us to really keep it hopping. oh well, let's just keep it going however we can.

'chick',

The tokico blues for our cars have the exact same valving as stock. That came straight from tokico's mouth when I was searching for my own shocks.
Now I have long maintained that you are not really going to notice much of a difference with aftermarket springs and stock shocks, especially since most aftermarket springs really only have something like an extra 50 lb/in per corner.

So we really need to know what sort of bouncy it is. If it's bouncing down the highway even though the road is really pretty smooth, and it just never stops, that means the shocks are bad. You look like you have it dropped pretty low, so it may be bottoming out all the time.

If it's a bunch of really quick, short bounces that damp out after a short while, that is the result of the stiffer springs. You'll have to get softer springs or stiffer shocks. It's also possible that you are riding on your bumpstops, which has the effect of making your springs really stiff, so maybe if you raised it up a bit (which is suppose is hard to do without adjustable perches... d'oh!) it could help it.

If you decide to go the shock route, both koni and bilstien have shocks for our cars. Search some of my past posts, cause I know I've posted where and what to look for before. (and I'm being lazy right now.)

And just to add more to my post:

1. I'm currently working on a custom 4-1 header a-la leptolude. It's pretty fun. I expect to finish it hopefully by summer.

2. Anyone else autocross their 3g? I know kaspin does. We both run in STS, and I don't know about him, but I've actually found the car to be surprisingly competetive in a rather competetive region here. It actually seems to have potential.

i didn't do the install myself (dad didn't tighten the lower ball joint so i blew a strut slamming the ground.. that was a lovely day) so i'm willing to bet i'm riding on the bump stops..

it bounces when i'm going along certain highways in my area and the road has small not so high dips.. omg.... i hate it

so when we get another nice day.. time to take the suspension apart and fawk around with it...
and i'm never lowering a car again...i'm moving to school in philly... i'm so ****ed

I'm still here folks....

actually, I've really been slackin' lately as far as even visiting this site. I still love my 'lude but man, like it was mentioned before...kind of dead in the 3rd gen forum.
I remember talking to the same people that are still posting now from when I stopped posting about, what....6 months ago? Not much has changed, but it's good to know that there are some dedicated 3G fans.
Maybe I should re-introduce myself if anybody gives a crap. If people do give a crap, then I'll stop by more often.
I'm Kenny. From Zimmerman, MN...basically the soon-to-be developed boonies of northern MN.
I own an '89 Prelude Si w/ 4ws which is torn to hell right now. Huuuuuge project. I have pics which I will try and post sometime soon. I've done a significant amount of weight reduction and have many plans that I'm workin' on right now- taking out the flip up lights for fixed lights, p/s rack modification since I took all p/s out, a tighter 4ws turning radius, plexiglass rear window and quarters, del sol seats, sunroof is out...and staying out, 88-89 to 90-91 tail light conversion, etc. etc. etc. I have an H22 that will be going in and I'm doin' it with my ghetto budget. I gutted out all of the stock wiring and acquired complete wire harnesses for interior, exterior, and engine from my friends vtec del sol along with other various parts i.g. heater core, heater contols, light harnesses. Like I said...huuuuge project. It's moving along slowly BUT surely so I look forward to have it on the road by late spring.
I also just bought a CRX this weekend. Daily driver. Yay.
Hopefully you will all be seeing a lot more of me around here and I promise I'm never this much of a chatter box. Just wanted to fill ya in. Take care all and look forward to talking 'lude-talk with ya.

Kango

i hated how much wheel gap the 3rd gen has compared to other cars...... everyone always comments about how hot it looks dropped

we're having a meet on the 17th in philly.. check out the regional and meetings/events forums.... i think i move in the same day into Temple U... i'm a bit nervous and excited.. should be fun though.. u should come out and meet a few of us.... we always have a fun time
