free car

I have a blue third gen for free, just pick it up & it's yours. Located in Joppatowne, MD (about 1/2 hour north east of Baltimore)

1987 Si, engine doesn't run & the altenator & battery have been sold. It will get junked w/in a few days if there is no takers.

Ive seen the car, and its a really good for a parts car. I would take it personally but i dont have the money to get it to my house or the ability to keep it anywhere without it being towed relatively soon.

i was going to use the headlights from the car, before i realized that i didnt need the leadlights at all, only covers for them, and i already ahd those.

even though the motor doesnt run, the longblock would be good for building as a spare motor, or simply rebuilding as a strong replacement for that high mileage motor in your current 3rd gen.

I was wondering if you had any pics... I am seriously thinking to do this.. If the body and interior are in decent shape I am definately interested... If push came to shove I could find a good B20A with a 5 speed and do the swap.. maybe even find a JDM one

Also, would you be willing to hold it for a bit... not too long, I'm leaving for KS by the end of the month, so I would pick it up long before then...

Uhh yeah, trust me, mark is just quoting what the guy said when he purchased the car, the owner probably purchased it Late 87 but its an 88.

its definitely a 3rd gen prelude, ive seen it in person. i told mark that it couldnt possibly be an 87 if its a 3rd gen when he was purchasing it.

but yes, it is a 3rd gen prelude.

Ok, I am reserving a tow dolly with the moving truck for the end of the month. We will be picking it up on the 27th and I can drive down right after we get the truck home... I am going to say maybe around one or two o'clock I will be there. If this isn't a good time frame for you let me know... I am more than flexible...

Also, I had a question about the engine problem... when you say that it doesn't run do you mean it wont start or it wont even turn over? not that it matters I am ust trying to get an idea as to what I am going to need to do to it... I have already found a JDM B20A for it with a 5 speed if I wanna go that route... but if it's in a good enough shape that I can just repair the motor I may do that...

I would think that the motor is toast. Horrible metal on metal sound & then it basically shutting down. Sounded like a lube failure resulting in either a seized crank or piston. After it cooled down I was able to start it & it would run for short period & then cut out. Def not something simple like altenator or wiring, I would almost guarantee some type of catastrophic failure.

Time frame is fine, If I'm not here, I will have the keys, title, and spare parts box w/whoever is home, or in the unlocked car. You got my number, just give me a call an hour or two before you come to get it.

ok... time has changed... we ended up moving the reservation back a couple days... We will pick up the truck and everything on mondy the 29th... I woulod come down then... that is unless something works out with a friend who found a trucker who may be able to carry our stuff for us... Then I am gonna get just the tow dolly on the 27th...

complicated enough?

of course there is always the possibility that the trucker has a limited time frame as well.. so things may change again... sorry about that... if this isn't favorable I can just get the dolly earlier and come get it on like the 20th or something... it will just cost $40 extra to get the dolly for a day no big deal..
