Manual transmission.
319K of mileage... very low price. I think it would be a good cheap car to learn stick on... but... well ofcourse it sounds like it needs some work... me not being super familiar with manual transmissions... this sounds pretty bad.
So what do you guys think?
I cant afford a new car at all... and my current lude.. a 5th gen has a **** SS trans failing again.
ad continues...
AC does NOT work but mechanic said you can get a used compressor for it for less than $50 bucks rebuilt. It did work for awhile last summer when i had it recharged.
So after all... is it easy to get parts for 3rd gen lude... or crazy hard? The car needs a paint job...
oh and this little gem too about the car:
sunroof and trunk leaks water and needs to resealed
so I am assuming it needs a complete new seal for it? But yet it still works.

Sounds like the rear calipers are sticking. Not difficult to replace.
One way to help persuade the tranny into R is to place shifter into N, release clutch, press clutch back in, and try R. Repeat if necessary. Common problem on 3rd gens.
Pretty high mileage. How much are they asking?
AC is over rated, lol. Actually, if the compressor went out you'll probably have to replace other components as well because they usually dump bits of themselves in the system and plug things up.
The sunroof leak can be fixed by cleaning out the drain tubes (easy fix). The sunroof is not sealed. They are designed to block most water, but there are drains in each corner of the sunroof tray to allow the water that makes it past the seal to drain out. These drains tend to plug up over time and the water backs up. When enough water accumulates, it pours in on the driver and passenger whenever the car is driven. It's also known as the "in car shower".
